MEET THE ARTIST

Mikayla Akemi

I have always found joy in working with my hands and creating something new. I enjoy mixing different mediums - mixing watercolor with ink or using oil to finish an acrylic painting on canvas. I like contrast and pops of red to draw your attention across the artwork.

When I was a little girl, I would walk around my grandmother’s home and admired all of the beautiful paintings that were decorating her walls...

I wanted to create art just like her.

I am inspired by the beauty in flowers and nature. They remind me that nothing lasts forever and to appreciate the blooms in your life while you have them.

What Akemi Aesthetics means to me

I was named after my grandmother, Akemi.

Our name means “Bright and Beautiful” in Japanese. I want my artwork to brighten up a room, share a piece of my life, and inspire others to create and design something new.
